Bomb Recipe: Chocolate Chip Bread!
Hi, hello there. It's me. I don't know about any of you out there but ever since quarantine started, I've actually been doing quite a lot of baking and cooking, you know, expanding my skills in the culinary world. Even though I'm no longer in quarantine, I still don't exactly want to leave my home, I've honestly become the biggest homebody and it doesn't really help that I'm anti-social and an introvert.
Anyhoo, I won't chit chat for too long as I'm really excited to share one of my favorite recipes I've been making lately that I like to whip up whenever I want something sweet but don't want to spend too much time on baking or want something easy to throw in the oven. So, as per TikTok, I made this chocolate chip bread that goes perfectly with a cup of coffee. OMG. It's so good. ENJOY!
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 Cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons butter (softened)
- 2/3 cups sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup milk or buttermilk
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (or more if preferred)
You'll also need two mixing bowls to keep the dry ingredients separate from the wet ingredients as we'll slowly combine those together to get the perfect consistency for the batter.
You can use either a bread pan like I used or any pan you have available to you.
STEP 1: First thing's first, preheat the oven to 350F. Easy enough right?
STEP 2: In a small mixing bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt and mix
together with a fork or whisk. Let it vibe on the side.
together with a fork or whisk. Let it vibe on the side.
STEP 3: In a large mixing bowl, either using a beater or those big muscles of yours, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs. Mix well. Ta-da.
STEP 4: Add half the dry mixture to the wet mixture and stir until JUST combined. Add half the milk or buttermilk and stir until just combined. We don't want to over mix the ingredients together. Repeat with the remaining ingredients until all the mixtures are combined. Now fold in the chocolate chips and try not to eat them.
STEP 5: Spray or coat your pan with oil or baking spray and pour your batter in. Bake for about 45-50 minutes. Once baking time is up, insert a toothpick into the bread. If it comes out clean, it's ready to eat! If not, place back in the oven for about 5 minutes more and keep your eye on it until bread is fully baked.
STEP 6: Dig in.
The bread comes out so nice and moist (sorry for all the folks who hate that word), and it's just the right amount of sweetness.
It's perfect for when you're craving something sweet and need something to satisfy the craving without having to grab that giant bag of candy you have hidden away or baking a giant chocolate cake.
Super easy, super delicious, can't go wrong with some chocolate chip bread. Are there any recipes you made or tried out for the first time? I would love to know, whether it be a dessert or something good for dinner. I love food, I really really love food. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little recipe and I hope you end up making it for yourself. Until next time my lovely homebodies!
